SU 50190 Cynolebias aureoguttatus Myers [G. S.], 1952 Holotype  [Collection database record]
No indication fig. is based on type.
aureoguttatus, Cynolebias Myers [G. S.] 1952:131, unnum. fig. on p. 134 [Aquarium Journal v. 23 (no. 7); ref. 3125] The name Cynolebias paranaguensis, mentioned in the same paragraph, is an obvious mistake for C. aureoguttatus; it has never been made available. The name aureoguttatus appears in the caption to the specimens figured on p. 134 but it is not available because no distinguishing features are presented (names published after 1930, Art. 13). Validly published by Da Cruz 1974 (see Costa 1995:94 [ref. 22097]). •In the synonymy of Leptolebias aureoguttatus (Da Cruz 1974) -- (Costa in Reis et al. 2003:530 [ref. 27061], Costa 2008:149 [ref. 29596]). •In the synonymy of Leptopanchax aureoguttatus (Da Cruz 1974). Current status: Synonym of Leptopanchax aureoguttatus (Da Cruz 1974). Cynolebiidae: Cynolebiinae.
